Favourite Cortina scene: Series 1 Episode 5

Gene drives the Cortina onto a local estate as he tries to catch up with a getaway criminal.

As football players duck and dive out the way

Gene: “Referee are you blind!!”

Gene swerves the Cortina around as he has the suspect’s car in sight.

Gene: “Right hold on”

Sam hardly surprised as he holds on: “What do you think I’m doing” 

Moments later the dimwitted suspect drives into the back of the net.

Gene: “Back of the net”

Ray makes the arrest after Chris stumbles into the goal net

Gene: “Little sod, they should bring back National Service”

Sam: “What take him away, teach him how to kill people”

Gene: “Wouldn’t do him any harm. Teach ‘im’ some manners” he spots the referee 

“Oi Referee, has anyone told you, you need glasses you dozy git, next time I run you over”
