GENE: He didn’t do anything, did he? It’s the way of the world.
SAM: A world which creates coppers like Ray. Awash with institutionalised corruption. You know, people like Rathbone need to be surgically removed from the force.
GENE: We can’t change this world, Sam. Only learn how to survive in it.
SAM: I don’t give up that easily.
GENE: Good.Life on Mars 1.07I had some time on my hands this morning while I waited for Apple’s WWDC Keynote to begin so I decided to watch episode seven of LOM. (These are the days where I wish this show had episode titles.) I often forget how much I enjoy this episode because Chris Chibnall, and he has written some of my least favorite Doctor Who and Torchwood episodes so I carry on bits of a grudge to show to show. Anyway it had a lot of great moments where Sam and Gene come to a mutual understanding of each other, though Sam got basically tricked into completing a proper investigation. It’s sweet in that weird Gene ♥ Sam Life on Mars-y way—real sweet.
CHRIS: Get off me, I’m a copper, not a villain!
SAM: Are you gonna talk to me now?Life on Mars 1.07Sam’s lurking and Chris’ body language after getting caught were priceless.
